Should I stay or should I go?

I received an interesting email today, one that has me in a bit of a conundrum. First, have you ever heard of the BlogHer network? It’s a pretty big deal. Sites like my favorites: Cake Wrecks, Lost In Suburbia, and Karen Walrond of Chookooloonks belong to the BlogHer network.

A couple of months ago, I learned of the BlogHer ’10 conference in New York, NY. It was, of course, full, since it is a pretty big thing. There was a little section to fill out to put your name on a waiting list, should more slots become available. Not thinking they would, I put my name in.

Today, I received an email that said if I wanted to attend BlogHer ’10, I can. The cost is $300 for the weekend, plus airfare. My brother, an NYU student, said I could crash at his place. It’s in early August, so a little ways away.

The catch? I have to respond within 72 hours or they give up my slot to the next person on the list.

Should I go?

More importantly, can I afford to go, especially after making the impromptu trip to Ohio for the Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop?

I want to. Pretty bad.

I haven’t yet broke that news to Clint yet, though. Not sure he’ll be for it anyway.

Maybe I’ll ease him in to the idea after some nookie. No. Wait. Just before nookie.

During?

Anyway, what would you do? Would you go, if you had a blog like mine that you wanted to continue to develop and reach a larger audience?

I need advice. Hit me with your best stuff.
