Day Four of Clint’s Unemployment: It’s just a normal Saturday.

It struck me this morning how today seemed totally normal. Clint was home, but he was supposed to be home, since it’s Saturday. Our family dynamic was the same as it usually is on Saturday. It all seemed comfortingly normal. It helped that we had distractions all day long. Mine started first thing.

My hip has been bugging me for nearly a month for apparently no reason. It started getting progressively worse and was even waking me up at night. It was at that point, I decided a trip to the chiropractor was in order. Now, I haven’t been to the chiro since I was in a car accident 10 years ago, but this guy came highly recommended from a friend of mine and anyway, I know firsthand how well chiropractic work makes me feel.

Sometimes, I get glimpses of my life and my children; glimpses of what’s to come. Glimpses that give me hope that Clint and I are on the right track in our parenting. Despite nearly a week of all of us being stuck at home with a nasty virus, despite the fact that we’ve been at each other’s throats because we’re so stir crazy, I had some huge glimpses today.

What a month!

First, the twinkies turned the big two, but we missed it because we were away on the Weekend of Bliss. They were in good hands with Clint’s mom, though, and got presents and cupcakes to round out a proper two-year-old birthday celebration.

It was a text conversation between my mom and me that broke the camel’s back. I was having the worst week I had yet experienced as a parent. We had all caught some yucky bug. We had been trapped in the house. Even when we were on the mend, it seemed to be getting worse. Monday night, I was up every other hour between Lily wetting the bed, Wyatt screaming bloody murder, and Lily screaming. I suspected ear infections.

Hi friends!

I have quite the story to tell you… it involves a totally spontaneous road trip with my four kiddos. Lots of shenanigans, lots of fun.

But, it’s going to wait for a bit. The kids and I needed a change of scenery and a vacation, so I’m going to be MIA for the next week or so to spend some good, quality time with my tikes and my mom.

Recently, I was informed that my doctor’s office has this cool portal thing where I can go on, view my chart and medical history, and even shoot an email directly to my doctor, if need be. It’s a pretty sweet set-up, I think. The other day, I clicked around in my chart, reading my various medical issues (my children are listed as the majority of my “issues,” ha!), and other random information.
