There I was, minding my own business, sitting on the toilet, when Wyatt came screaming and crying into the bathroom. Upon closer inspection, it was clear that his twin brother had bitten him on the back. Not cool, Zander. Not. Cool.

On Vacation!

Hi friends!

I have quite the story to tell you… it involves a totally spontaneous road trip with my four kiddos. Lots of shenanigans, lots of fun.

But, it’s going to wait for a bit. The kids and I needed a change of scenery and a vacation, so I’m going to be MIA for the next week or so to spend some good, quality time with my tikes and my mom.

While you’re reading this, I’m probably in the airport hobbling around on one foot while frantically trying to get my shoes off at the security gate. What is it about that line that sets my adrenaline on hyperdrive? Is it the line of folks behind me? The conveyor belt ahead of me, moving perpetually forward? And why do I always forget to wear flip-flops? Seriously, Lindsay. You’ve flown enough to know better.

First of all, thank you for all of those nummy meal ideas last week! We ended up making the pork roast in the crock pot and it was insanely delicious. Yuuum. I’m going to be coming back to that post next time I need dinner ideas. You guys are awesome!

This week, I need tips from you. I’m heading out to the grocery store and have no idea what to get to make dinners this week. I like cooking… I just hate trying to be creative and figure out what to make at 4:30pm when my entire house falls into a spiraling vortex of screams and whines. This week, I want to have a plan. A list. Be ready when that hellish witching hour rolls around.

For my sanity, I gate off the kitchen from the babies. It’s easier than attaching safety latches to cupboards, and it means I don’t have to spend the entire day removing my little climbers from the table top. I realize that by gating off the kitchen, I have turned it into something of a forbidden fruit, something that seems much more exciting than it really is, but it’s worth it for my sanity. Of course, occasionally, the gate will fall down. The second it does, the babies come running.
